GREEN SPOT FARMS - PICTURE PERFECT FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY!
The 1st of many portraits of the Roberts Family! Today we spent a little more than a half hour at Green Spot Farms in Mentone, a small little town between Redlands and Yucaipa, Ca. It was a fun exciting time for the little ones to get together and enjoy a small farm like environment. I am honored to have my images enjoyed in their newly purchased home in Yucaipa - congrats to you all on your new purchase!
I must say, this has been a fun rewarding portrait session, but a challenging one, never-the-less! Today I worked with four children and their parents. Three boys and a little girl to be exact! They were fun and energetic. They were hard to get all of them cohesively looking at the camera and smiling! I don't think I ever got them to do it at the same time..... Yes, that was the challenge! Working with children images can become like a puzzle. A little piece from here, a little from there, and then BAM - the picture comes together! Look below to see how this puzzle came together.... Let me know what you think?
Original Portrait
As you can see there are some flaws in this family portrait. Not everyone is looking at the camera. Some of the kids are not in the greatest of pose. It's common when there are lots of children! The next step you'll see some deletions prior to adding back in.
Step 2
After identifying areas that I want to improve, I use what is called a clone stamp tool and hide the image while cloning the background. This helps when posting another image over the original!
Step 3
As you can see, I added the right hand side in finally. This I thought was a much better pose as the child is looking at the camera! Some defining moments work not looking at the camera, but this is not one of them.
Step 4
This one is subtle. But if you notice I changed out Mr. Roberts hand on his wife's shoulder. But I wasn't happy with the kiddos pose so I decided different. You'll see on the next portrait update!
Step 5
In step 5, I added the left hand side updated pose and arm of the mother back in. I felt this was a much better and created a picture perfect pose than the last step. As you can see there is still some work to be done on his left arm!
Step 6
Almost done. But just a few more edits and it will be completed! What do you think so far?
Step 7
You probably didn't even notice it but his bled band was missing in the last image. I almost missed it myself. But I added it back in during this step!
Step 8
The last step I added a little something that puts a little more detail in the eyes. Hard to see it on this image but on facial shots, it brings out the color of the eyes!
